My Top Five Eyeshadow Palettes
The Violet Voss Holy Grail Palette
This palette is definitely holy grail status. The Violet Voss Holy Grail palette is my current favourite palette. The mattes are so buttery and smooth; they blend like a dream. The shimmers are very soft and extremely pigmented. These colours scream at me and make my brain go crazy with inspiration. There are tonnes of looks you can do with this. I could never recommend this palette enough; I love it!

Juvias Place Masquerade Palette
I was lucky enough to order straight from the Juvias Place website with two other girls in Cape Town to split the shipping costs. The shipping is quite expensive and if I remember correctly it was as much as R600 or so. This is quite expensive but when you consider how much people pay for the ones from resellers here in SA, you'll understand why we didn't mind. Anyways...
These shadows are absolutely amazing. This brand is one of the only brands of makeup that are specifically aimed at woman of colour which also means that the shadows are extremely pigmented. The Masquerade palette is one of my favourites because it is HUGE, I bought the larger one because (I'm obsessed) I really would never need to repurchase this or many other palettes after it. These shadows blend amazingly, are super pigmented and have next to no fallout. If you don't have this palette or any other palettes from Juvias Place you need to stop what you're doing and get one now!
Tarte Tartelette Palette
This is my current second favourite palette. The array of colours used to create this palette are truly stunning. With a mix of fuchsia, berry, orange and neutral brown tones, this palette is a very versatile addition to your makeup collection. The formula for these eyeshadows is extremely blendable and pigmented; you only need a little dip to have quite a lot of colour on the lid, which means less product is needed to do a full makeup look. There is a little bit of kick up when you initially dip the brush in. This doesn't really bother me personally as the shadows are not powdery on the lid at all and there is no fall-out when applying it. These eyeshadows blend amazingly and are so buttery and smooth, this is definitely a staple palette in every makeup junky's stash and I can't recommend it enough. Anastasia shadows have one of the best eyeshadow formulae ever.
Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette
(I bought mine for R610 from www.tartecosmetics.com)
This, as well as the Original Tartelette palette were my first two high-end palettes. I really love this palette so much. The shadows are extremely pigmented. This goes for both the shimmers and the mattes. Tarte shadows are one of my top favourite formulated shadows. They don't have much pick-up and they blend amazingly on the eyes.
I find this palette very versatile. It has three 'looks' that you can do being the top row of colours that are cooler toned, the middle row which is a warmer row and the bottom row which is a burgundy, warm row. I never really stick to these and I usually mix and match but its still a really awesome way to use the palette and I think it would be a great option for people just getting into makeup as well as anybody who doesn't already own it. It's also great for travelling. Get it if you can!

Morphe 35B Palette
This is my go to matte palette; it has three rows of 'looks' that you can do, with a warmer toned row at the top, purple tones in the middle and smoky cool tones at the bottom (similar to the In Bloom palette). Definitely an awesome palette for travelling. The quality of these shadows are outstanding; they are extremely buttery and blendable with amazing pigment.
Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette |
I love to experiment with all kinds of colour and I literally never need another colourful palette after this because this palette has everything! It is the perfect multi-coloured palette from vibrant blues, peacock greens, pinks, reds, yellows; I could easily turn myself into a rainbow. Morphe shadow palettes are actually really well priced and the quality is amazing, they sure are worth way more then what you pay. Morphe shadows are very blendable, the skimmers are amazing and the mattes are really good. I can't wait to get more palettes from morphe.

Tarte Pro Amazonian Clay Palette

I actually just recently got this palette and I'm already in love. I've mentioned before how much I love Tarte shadows and this palette is no exception. It's truly and awesome palette.
Juvias Place Nubian Palette
(I got mine for $25 from www.juviasplace.com)
This is my staple nude palette. Earlier I mentioned how much I love my Masquerade palette, same goes for the Nubian. The shadows are just as amazing and pigmented I can't rave about Juvias Place palettes enough and I can't wait to get more of these beauties.
