January Beauty Favourites
Hello loves! Hope you had a great Tuesday. So I am wanting to start a new series on my blog. It will be my favourites for the month starting from this month January 2018. I would like this to be a continuous series on my blog this year so let's see how it goes. So here are my favourites for the month of January 2018:
1) Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb $18
This lipgloss has become a big favourite of mine this month. Not only does it give my lips a beautiful glossy sheen (which does not feel sticky at all), it also has an absolutely delicious scent. Although it is more on the pricey side I think it is really worth it. You cannot get this in South Africa unless you purchase from a reseller such as Pink Cosmetics, Muse Beauty, Vanity Line or Fashion Police Online Store or from Fenty Beauty's website.
2) Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Light £24.50
I just hit pan on my all time favourite bronzer! If you are a very fair skintone like I am then this is the perfect bronzer for you. It is very subtle and buildable with a perfect warm undertone. I use this all over the perimeter of my face and then bronze my cheekbones slightly more with the original Hoola bronzer from Benefit. It is unfortunately not available in South Africa, I have mine in the Cheek Parade palette which I bought last year from Red Square, you can still get it from Benefits South African Online Store. You can now get Hoola Light as a mini in the Complexionista Kit from Red Square for R475.
3) Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation R585
I am sad to say I was one of the people who never believed the hype around this foundation. I always thought it was far to over priced and over hyped. That is until I actually tried a sample of it. Oh my word I can't begin to describe to you how wrong I was. If you have combo to oily skin this is ideal for you. On me it has a semi matte finish, never looks cakey or over done and lasts the whole day. It really is perfect and makes my skin look flawless. I use the lightest shade 1N1 Ivory Nude for reference. You can get this at your local Edgars, Truworths or Foshini that has an Estee Lauder counter or Red Square in store or online.
4) Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer R75
I have been using this concealer for a while now but this month more so then before. I like to use this in my T-zone and use a more full coverage concealer in the inner corner of my undereyes and it really brightens up my face. I use the shade 005 and there are unfortunately only 3 shades in total. You can find this concealer at your local Dischem store.
5) The Body Shop British Rose Petal-Soft Gel Toner R150
I got this as a christmas present and didn't read the label properly thinking it was a shower gel. No its a gel toner. Now I am unfortunately one of those people who never believed in toners until I tried this one. I apply it with a cotton round all over my face after cleansing and not only does it take off any excess makeup I may have missed but it also leaves my face feeling super hydrated and plump; exactly what it claims on the label. I really cannot recommend it enough.
6) RCMA No-Color Powder $18
I've been on the search for a loose translucent powder that doesn't flash back for ages now. I saw many rave reviews about this powder and decided to give it a shot. I love this stuff! It leaves my skin beautifully airbrushed and doesn't flash back in flash photography. You can buy this from resellers in SA such as Makeup Bowtique, Muse Beauty SA, Fashion Police Online Store or Pink Cosmetics or from Beauty Bay.
7) Colourpop I Think I Love You Palette $16
Although this is one of the more neutral/everyday palettes from Colourpop it really has become a favourite for me for everyday use. The shadows are very pigmented but do not go on patchy. They super soft and blend amazingly. I highly recommend this palette! I got mine from Fashion Police Online Store for R400 or you can order directly from Colourpop.
8) Colourpop Pressed Powder Highlighter in Here Kitty Kitty $8
This is by far one of my favourite products from Colourpop. It is a soft champagne shade (my personal favourite). If you like a blinding, wet looking highlight, this one is for you. I wear this almost every day and it looks stunning! You can buy this directly from Colourpop.
9) Makeup Revolution Concealer $7
I just recently got this concealer but I already love it! I use the shade C1 which is currently the lightest shade and it suits me perfectly. It is very comparable to the Tarte Shape Tape although it is less thick which I actually prefer. I find it a little easier to work with than the shape tape. I would highly reccomend it. You can get it from TamBeauty.
10) Jouer Citrine Powder Highlighter $28.20
This highlighter is so stunning. I've been reaching for it very frequently and it really makes your face glow. It is a champagne shade similar to the Colourpop one. If you've been thinking about buying a highlighter from Jouer for a while now I would go ahead and buy it if I were you. Both this and the Colourpop Highlighter do not have much of a base colour and are more Sheena on the face which means you will not have a stripe on your face which is one of the things I look for in highlighters. They are also both extremely buildable and blinding. You can buy this from BeautyBay.
11) Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer R230
I bought the shade Light Bronzer and it is perfect for my fair skin. I would highly recommend it if you have a skintone between lighter then NC10 and NC20/NW20. It feels soft and buttery to the touch, blends easily and smells incredible. If you are sensitive to scents maybe pass on this product though. You can buy this bronzer at Dischem.
